FD New paint color opinions...

I have a 93 touring addition i bought almost a year ago, the dealer i got it from must have gotten a maco job done on it or something because its fading and the clear coat is looking gloomy on the front right fender... It has the tan interior, anyone have recommendations on a color? I was thinking to stick with the stock Vintage Red, but i like change, especially if it looks awesome.... Thanks for any input....

Unless you plan to strip the car, I would recommend staying with the stock color or with something close to the stock color (i.e. something red, but maybe a slightly different red).

My buddy just recommended the same thing, saying it would decrease the value of the car to change it from what the title says. What would a good paint job run? I dont want a fancy paint job just repainted a single color... Probably red now.

I don't think repainting a VR car will decrease the value. I think its the only color that will actually increase in value from being repainted because there are so many of them. Unless you have a really low mileage FD I would say you can redo the color. Besides, you can always paint it back if you want.

If you want to stay red, mazda used a newer red that was used later in production that looks terrific. Its a little darker.

If you want to stay with mazda OEM colors...

There seem to be a few favorites with tan interiors.
People generally like MB with tan. I think a black exterior goes with all interior colors. I would avoid white + tan like the plague however. CYM is another popular color but it will look pretty bad with tan I think.

If you want some ideas outside of the mazda colors, it would be better if you posted a color and let everyone criticize you about it. Thats pretty much how it goes around here hahaha.

I'm in the same boat as you. I decided to repaint mine TGM and I swapped my tan interior for a black one. The interior looks GREAT.

yeah it looks like **** actually. I painted my exterior from MB to velocity yellow (chevy C6 color) and I haven't gotten around to replacing/reupholstering the seats... Before anyone asks why its because I have bigger fish to fry.

I think a Dark green looks best with a tan interior

But it would be a better idea to keep your car red

red paint fades easy amongst other colors, its like black too cause its a high solid and does not contain any metallic in its paint, it will show scratchs and blemishis easily, but its ur car do wat u want, im going orange.

I went Ferrari Rossa Red, it's a bit more orange while the stock vr, is a bit more blue, but I didn't want to disassemble the car for a complete color change, and a partial would have looked odd, plus you can always tell where they makes the door stickers etc... it's just never 100% This way I painted 100% of the exterior and left areas where it matters very little like door jams etc the old VR.

Only change the colour (unless you're just altering the shade of red...) unless you're going ***** to the wall and doing the engine bay, jambs, etc Otherwise your car will hate you

And goddamn thats a HUGE picture!

My car is currently being painted this color

House of Kolors - Candy Apple Red. Pictures don't do it justice, just a beautiful and high depth color in person. You will spend more on just the paint then some do on paintjobs. It is important to get the right color first, so your not changing it later.
