FD Floormats

Hey all,

I'm in dire need of floormats (I have cracked mats...). I missed the group buy of floormats from that one lady on eBay. Looking around and interestlngly, I saw Japan had the red floormats on certain FD's. Were red ones ever released in USA that were for LHD? Also, anyone with links that have other Japanese parts. FDZ

'93 and '94 RX-7's had a red interior option with certain exterior colors. I believe the red color between the two years is different as well.

Yah, the red interior FD's in USA were a lil touch of pink...I seen some pure red OEM mats. Oh well, either way...I need floormats in general. Haha.

www.rx7.com sells tan and black mats that are exactly like factory except they have no monogram stitching. I have a set and they're perfect.

I heard about this, but then I also heard about how thin the mats are, which would definitely not hold up. So, I opted to go with the RX7.com mats, and they're real nice... fit is perfect, color match is perfect... no logo though

The mats we got from Anne weren't thin. There was a concensus to order the berber mats which had a higher face weight and were thicker. We also had a spiked backing and the catch on the drivers side, so the mats are thick high quality and don't move at all. IMO the stitching of "RX-7" looked much better then OEM. I'll take some pics tonight so you can see what I'm talking about.

From what I heard Anne's ebay account was suspended for stitching the logos in to the mats. Most have said that they were unable to contact her via email so I'm not sure if she is still making them. I'm sure if you're persistant enough you'll get a response from her. Here's the pics:

Those look good man... shucks, looks like I missed out. Why was she suspended? Was it because of copyright issues for stitching RX7 on them? geeeesh... can't believe she would get in trouble for that... oh well, rules are rules.

Considering Mazda NA are either too stupid or too lazy to get them made for sale with the logos, you'd think they would let someone else do it! Sometimes the law IS an ***!

Those mats are nice! Come on Mazda, get her to make them for you! We'll buy them, honest!

..hmm...I hear about eBay listings of floromats sometimes being too thin. How about these..anyone ever buy these before from this seller? Looks similar to ones at Rotary Performance but $17 cheaper.

eBay (there are 4 pieces? where other 2 go?):

The first one looks similar to what Anne was posting (without the logo of course) and it says the seller is located in MO just like Anne was. The ones listed on ebay by Anne were low quality thin ones. We requested berber as I previously mentioned.

I see. I will probably go ahead and buy these (if someone doesn't do it before me). Pretty cheap I guess for trial and error. You know of any place that sells fabricated/patched RX-7 logos? Hehehe....

No place that I know of. Regarding the mats, incase you didn't read my previous post, I suspect these are the low quality thin mats that don't stay in place.

Hi,

Yah, I read. What I plan to do if this is Anne or another seller selling these thin mats...is to place a clear overlay that are can be cut to fit over. My buddy with an RSX bought some clear overlay mats to fit over his stock ones. They look great. That's my idea to protect and "sturdy" up over the new mats. What you think? Thanks for the warning though again about the thin mats.

I think it's worth the extra $50 to get the high quality mats. No modification or stiffening needed and they look awesome.

Hey ya'll,

Well I emailed the seller to ask some questions and it's indeed Anne, the former seller of the group buy of the floormats on the forum. She signed off her e-mail response with her name, "Anne." =D She seemed pretty nice but now we know it's her.

FDZero, email her and ask if off the record and hypothetically speaking, the mats could have the RX-7 logo put on them
