FD Chrome Guage Bezels

Does anyone know where you can get some chrome type paint to re-finish the chrome looking bezels on the FD guage cluster? Mine really looks like crap and I'd like to redo them, but I've never seen any paint that looks like real chrome. Obviously this can be found somewhere since many cars have plastic pieces made to look like real chrome. Any help would be appreciated.

^^^ BUMP..

Just because I'm curious too... I'm thinking of redoing my dash (paint, gauge covers, etc) over the winter.

Well, Chaz and I are both in Kansas City, Missouri. If you can find a place around here that does the work, let me know.

Thanks for your help!

I had the same problem. Bought the part new from Malloy Mazda for $65. PIA to put in but you would have to take the dash apart to chrome it or paint it anyway.

I found some chrome type spray paint at the local auto store that I'm going to try before anything else. I wasn't aware that you could actually chrome plastic because, as someone pointed out to me, the heat from the chroming process would melt the plastic. Any idea how they're actually able to do this? After I have time to take my dash apart and try the spray paint stuff I'll let you know how it turned out. Even if it ends up looking like crap I'll just be in the same boat I'm in now.

I'm surprised getting the pieces new from Mazda is only $65. Depending on the cost for getting them chromed it may be just as cheap to buy new ones altogether.

The retail price for the part is 120 but they will give you a nice discount, at least they did for me.

Uh, normally you know I would be the first one with a can of paint ready to try anything.. However, on this one, I'll let you go first.
