FD, centre speaker wiring question

Hi, I'm the process of removing an aged aftermarket deck from my FD and replacing it with a new one.

I have looked at the 94 wiring manual for the stereo, i have a 93 Base model - so no bose.

The question, firstmost, is the 93 stereo wiring diagram the same as the 94? I'm assuming it is.

Secondly, are the spliced high level imputs that go to the centre speaker input off the front left and right channel spliced BEFORE the mazda wiring harness, or after the wiring harness (between the the harness and the stock deck).

I pulled the head unit the previous owner had installed, and i'm worried that if the splices were off the back of the OEM deck, rather than behind the wiring harness for the OEM deck that when this aftermarket unit was installed, those wires were just cut and stuffed back in the dash. I can't hear anything from the centre speaker to tell if it's on or not, perhaps because i can't wedge my face far enough into the dash though.

I'll admit, i'm just learnign to read automotive wiring diagrams, so the answer may be more obvious to someone with more experience.

For reference sake, is z86 in the wiring manual.

I searched and all i found was threads on what a guy can do to replace the centre speaker.

odds are that the center speaker wasnt hooked up to begin with to that deck. i would recommend you dont even bother hooking it to your new one either. the reason being that it was a cheap little paper speaker that didnt do much in 93, and now its a dried up paper speaker that probably doesnt even work anymore. when i took mine out to install a gauge pod the paper was so cooked it just disintegrated and got my hands dusty. pull it out and throw it away.
