I was thinking about installing one of the single din Alpine motorised headunits that have the 6.5" pop up screen but wondered if there was enough clearence with the vent overhang and gear lever when in 3rd?

Does anyone have a similar setup working fine in their FC?

 

you will be alright i have the motorized tv screen and the combo dvd reciever and its works...oh i have a miata short shifter kit too

 

You should be fine. If its anything like my Pioneer it only sticks out about 1/2 an inch. If worse comes to worse take a ruler and measure 7 in. from the deck space if your worried that you may need to retract the screen in flight.
