FC2000 people...how much did you pay???

was just wondering how much you have invested into the exterior of your car including paint. NOT including anything else. dont mind if its a nock off either...

i just saw this amazingly beautiful light blue rx7 and wanted to know how much it would cost (roughly) to have it done.

so how much did you pay for your kit, what are the parts you have, and how much was the paint?

thanks,

steve

Invested Divest may be more a more appropriate word.

There are a lot of variables involved in bodywork pricing. If you could post a link or photo of the car you mentioned you could get a more accurate estimate.

Roughly $1000 doing most of the work yourself to $3000 using genuine products with fitting and paint by professionals

The nose and one-off lighting I put together was in the $1100 range (ShineAuto FC2000 repro) including shipping. Side skirts and rear bumper were another $225-ish shipped. Paint and body products are up to approx. $400, not including the final prime, base color and clear which have yet to be purchased (another $500-600)
Keep in mind, my whole car is being color changed. It would cost considerably less to color match the additional body pieces to your cars existing color.

On top of that, I have roughly 120 man/hrs. into body work so far (my friend ((he's a professional bodyman)) and I are doing all the work ourselves). However, we have molded in the sides and rear (and shaved the body molding) which took a majority of the time. There are a handfull of other exterior pieces that were modified or changed as well which I won't get into.

So...... All told, cash out of pocket will be in the $2500 range......wow, I hope my wife doesn't read this..... plus all the labor of installing and painting.

If you are planning on getting a repro nose, putting together a simple lighting kit, and having a professional install/paint just the bumper, plan on shelling out about $1500.

RE Amemiya front: $1700

RE A. air duct: $105

RE A. GT 2 wing (frp): $1255

RE A. side step pro: $450

RE A. diffuser (carbon): $850

RE A. diffuser side generator (kevlar): $320

RE A. diffuser center generators (carbon): $310

RE A. canards pro (carbon): $420

RE A. hood: $1000

Having connections saves you a lot of money. These are the main aero parts on the car, there are a few more but not important to list.
