Talking FB: Shaved Door Handles

Alright well ive finally started to mess a little with the outside body work on my widebody FB.....i decided that i wanted the car to roll with its curves so i shaved the door handles, locks, and side mirrors.....later i will add some aftermarket mirrors but the stock ones just stuck too far out....heres some pics of the welded in plates...today im filling it with body filler and sanding it down smooth.....and yes thats a flat black primer paint job....i will post pics of the finished product as soon as its done today.....and a word for all u haters that are against modifying the FB...keep it to urself....ill take constructive criticism but not b.s. opinions.....hope u like....parker

Not bad ... Mm.. Where are you gonna put the remote switch ? Cause it is not fun to get locked out if your battery dies . How about some pics of the whole car ?

Just keep the hatch lock, then you can at least reach through and open the door if need be. Its what I am going to do.

As long as it comes out clean, I have no complaints. Update us when you're done.

u went with AUTOLOC...and u get set back $400....wow u got ripped off really bad....i paid ive i recall properly $120...that includes shipping....i got an 8 channel remote....2 door poppers....2 door solenoids....and 2 push buttons for hiddens buttons to activate the poppers.....i put the popper on the lower part of the door where it has a solid area for it....and i had to remove the interior beside the bins and drill a hole so that the popper can come in far enough to shut smooth and yet have enough power to push the door open...u cant see where they are installed without the door open but from the inside u cant tell that i have poppers b/c the interior still covers the popper....hopefully that helps a little bit.....l8r...parker

o ya im tryin to take the pics of the doors finished but right now they are almost done...just finished my long road trip...cross country if u didnt see my other post....so im just waiting to get the car running again and then ill take pics of the doors along with the process of turboing my 12a sp....

i went with a 15lb solenoid...which has enough pull to pop the 1st gen doors as they are fairly light....and with the actual door popper...its spring loaded and u can change the pressure on the spring by moving a screw on the back of the popper in or out.....my doors pop open out just enough to be open...but they dont pop open to were u would have to be afraid of it hitting another car parked next to u.....parker

my solenoids arent plastic....the very end is plastic but the rest is metal.....and u dont need 35lbs of pulling power to open the doors on the first gen.....all ur doing is opening the latch and if u connect them properly and with the correct angle u can get the full 15lbs of pulling force......my doors open just fine and i enjoy paying 120...instead of a massive amount of 400....just my 2 cents...parker
