does anyone have a pinout diagram for this unit (82 S). has factory cassette.

i am trying really hard to justify keeping it, and it's last hope is that i find a way to swap out the amp and speakers. There are three round connectors on the back drivers side, and i think two are outs for front and rear, but only one was used (i have the small amp, not the "burly" one in the GSL)

i have searched high and low on this forum and googled for an inordinate amount of time. these things must be so rare they are worth a fortune! ;-)

 

I believe I threw all of mine away, but I could take a look in my garage this weekend and see if I have the headunit and amplifiers off my 83 GS. I'd let it all go for a fair price.

Messing with it on my kitchen table I think I have identified (l to r as you look at the front of the unit

1. 6-pin circular Looks to be Casette interface
2. 5-pin circular. Looks to be rear preamp iut
3. 5-pin circular. Front preamp?
4. 1 tab. No idea here. Isn’t connected to chassis ground.
5. 4-tab. Front L and R amped out.
6. 3-tab. Power and antenna? Not sure which is which. Two of the tabs always appear to feed at 12v

i have used United Radio twice in the past with the old cd players in the FD and FC and they were always able to repair them. I sent them the stereo from my FB and they sent it back says they can't fix it. So I found another one that worked and went that route.
