FAL lexan rear window cracked for no reason...
As the topic says... I have maybe put 1 mile on my car in the last 4 years. recently i have had the car sittin on my sideyard carport while workin on customers cars in the garage. Somehow, for no reason a 4" long crack evolved out of no where on my FAL rear window. Its not like NASA's space junk fell outa the sky and hit it or anything. It cracked for no F-----ing reason! Only thing i can think of is that the car was actually exposed to sunlight for a few weeks for the first time in 4 years and it somehow had an affect on it. Its adhered to a siebon CF hatch, but i just can see how something like this could have happened. -END RANT-
This happened to Eric/LUPE/Viking Warhammer/Garagamel/Who ever the hell else he's been on here a few years back. I think he just called Summit where he purchased it from and they sent him a new one. Since it's been so long since you've ordered it you are probably SOL. I say it's Karma for the LS1.

FAL has crap glass. my "friend" recently purchased their glass and once we started to bolt it down, hairline fractures started to appear. Over time, those cracks got worse and became a safety hazard. Shields has a better reputation and their products have a much better build.

it's a plastic windshield, what do you expect... you have to replace lexan every few years for automotive applications, that is just how it is. i don't care if the plastic has been touched by god or has been supposedly treated with the best tools technology has, it's still just plastic and hence very brittle and is moreso with age and heat(sunlight).

Il gladly pay $500 every four years for a new FAL with the same LS1 instead of $4000 every other 5 mins for a new rotardly engine and still have to buy new FAL's when they crack.

I built it for me, i love it, and i wouldnt change a thing. everyone knows rotaries are a mythical creature that run as reliable as the people that claim they saw bigfoot...
