get Maguiar's 3-step system (or similar), first you use a "paint cleaner" or clay bar to strip off a very thin layer of paint. Then you use a "polish" to recondition and shine the paint. Then wax for protection.

The first time I did this process on my old 79 RX-7, my roommates asked me if I got a new paint job!

Nope, the best way to get those off is with a hair dryer! Get a high-powered hair dryer, turn it to its hottest setting and blast away. Once the pinstripes and decals are really warm, they will peel off. You may have some residue left over, which you can use some gum-out to take off or perhaps just use the paint cleaner.
