Evo ProSport gauges

Does any one knows if they are good? They look really nice and so far I read good things about them.

I had the Prosport gauges for boost and oil temp but it was before they came out with the Evo series or the premium series with peak hold/warning.

I really liked the electronic senders because the boost reading was consistent and easy to read, no bouncing. The illumination made it especially easy. On most cars with aftermarket gauges I don't even bother trying to look at the gauges while I'm driving fast because it takes too long to find the needle and then judge whether the needle is just bouncing or if that's the real reading.

The problem with them was also the electronic senders. Both the oil pressure sender and the boost sender crapped out. At first they would randomly go to max. Then they started switching between a max and min reading really fast. Eventually this started happening more often and then one day they both just maxed out and never gave me any reading besides that again. It wasn't the electrical connections because I ran discrete grounds for both the senders and the gauages. The connections under the hood were soldered and sealed with plastidip. I checked the wires and resistance, it was just the senders. They weren't mounted in a particularly hot area so I wouldn't expect heat to be the culprit. For the boost sender I had an inline filter installed so it shouldn't have had any water or oil get inside the sender. The filter was clear plastic and nothing ever showed up inside of it, not even moisture. So I dunno if they changed senders, or if mine were just a bad batch. But that was my experience. Besides that I loved the actual gauges.

Didn't you hook them up to the dimmer switch so you can control brightness?

Hmm the regular Prosport were just fine but they are actual gauges, not LCD displays or whatever the Evo ones are.

Prosport Evos look nice but don't go with the rest of the RX7 gauges imo, I'd stick with analog.

I have NO issues with my Pro Sports.
I have the older version which illuminate white in the day and orange when lights are on.

The EVO's in Drews car (installed by me) are very difficult to read in the daylight hrs due to them being all red when on. I prefer the ones I have over the EVO.

But as with anything.... it's all personal preference...

But they are not kind of the same technology? All of them have the tinted glass. I am asking because supposedly they got a few awards and stuff.

I'm running prosport evo oil press and coolant temp gauge. it's been almost six month and it's still working properly. I don't know about hard seeing it on the day bc I maxed my brightness all the way and too lazy to take my cluster out and adjusts it. I read alot about prosport gauges. Alot of people hates prosports gauges but I rather have a accurate gauge than
the stock gauges.
