Ever here of HiFonics????

Hi all, a new car stereo place opened up here today and I went to take a look.
Not too bad, but they mostly sell is a brand called HiFonics and Tsumnami or something like that. So whats the lowdown on these two companies. How are their speakers, amps and subs?
Forgive me, but I've never heard of them, I looked up some stuff on their website and they say that they make great high end $hit. I thought the stuff looked kind of cheap to me.
So whats the deal with this stuff, good or no?
Worth the price?

TIA

I don't know about there stuff now but Hifonic used to make very hi end amplifiers. I used to have a Hifonics Ulysses (sp) 50 watt amp that was stable to 1ohm and produced about 400 watts bridged. The reason I bought the amp is because David Quessenbury won the IASCA nationals back in the late 80's with this amp. I bought the amp in the late 80's as well, I don't remember the exact year. But the 50 watt amp retailed for $585.

Yeah, I remember Hifonic when I was into car stereo about 2-3 years ago and Hifonic aren't that great of a product. I don't know about them making high end stuff, but when I was looking, they were cheap and sounded crappy. It was like budget minded or something. I think back then, they came in white with some gay *** color stripes to catch your attention. Don't know about now, but I'd never buy anything from them then.

I too was big into stereos years ago 5-6 and HiFonics was a high class amp, low ohm stable, big brutes, the Collosus was way over 1000 (true) watts. I can't say how they are now days though. and since they are a new place its kinda hard to take thier advice on stuff they sell.
the best thing to do is check thier return and warrenty policy before you buy, so incase its crap your not stuck with it.
