Efini badge owners - which ones do you like better ??

Hey guys -

Just a quick opinion - seeker? Maybe a stupid question.

I noticed that rx7.com and rx7store.net have the efini badges with the colored backgrounds.

After digging around I also discovered that there are badges with NO background - kind of like the standard badges.

Which ones do you guys think look better or seem better made???

I own the ones with the colored background and I would say they are ok... Mine have begun to chip (the front one) and I may replace with the non-background type.

Where are the others for sale?

If I re-badge my car, I'm going to go with the non-background ones.

+1 where can they be found?

based on the pics i agree... however, they come in all different colors. I'm more interested in how the badges look aesthetically and in terms of a quality IN REAL LIFE. I haven't seen any in person on a car.

which ones look - you know - less cheap???

I got the pic from ebay. I used to think it was a knock-off. There ARE some knock-offs on ebay, but this one is apparently a genuine mazda part. I verified that they actually exist by looking through some books I had. Also, I saw a thread somewhere where they were mentioned.

I had a set of the real Mazda Japan Efini badges and they were the best quality. They were heavy and didn't chip or peal. they flew off my car though because I didn't secure them well enough being the dumbass that I am. I bought some more from one of the RX7 stores a while back that are a reproduction and they aren't the same quality. I have the black background.

I vote for the NON-background one. That looks awesome! I actually have the background one right now, but I'm DEFINITELY buying this "new" one.

They're kind of expensive though. Anyone know if FDNewbie can hook it up (Ramy, hopefully you read this )?

Thanks for the heads-up "xurotaryrocket!" My car no longer has an OEM paint scheme and I was really starting to HATE the different colored emblem background on the car.

just to clarify guys - There are 3 options here

1 - (FAKE) no background knock-off (not interested in these)

2 - (REAL) no background JDM Mazda efini badge

3 - (REAL) COLORED background (red, black, silver, white) JDM Mazda efini badge

I am interested in comparisons between #2 and #3.

i would say ESPECIALLY in your case you would want the no-background ones since they don't make colored ones that match your paint..... my $.02

i have a set of the OEM non background ones (pair) and OEM "RX-7efini" rear lettering as well for sale, still in original mazda wrapping. send me a pm

p.s.

yes the quality of these look great. the chrome on the efini badges are clean, and the RX-7 efini sign is a nice steel colored decal. picked these up a while ago from japan.

yeah, I already have the "RX-7 Efini" badge that I'm saving for a rainy day. I managed to find the RED one. They are pretty hard to come by. rx7.com and rx7store.net do not have them. Occasionally they pop up on ebay. optionsauto.com carries both versions.

One of the big questions you have to answer----how does your paint look behind your existing badges? If it's faded, the 'non-background' kind might look bad.

Having said that, the non-background oem mazda ones look pretty damn good. I'm currently rocking the rx7.com red background ones.

LoL, Dammit! It's all good though. I figured I'd give it a shot. I'll just buy it new then. My background badges just don't cut it anymore.

Well, I havent heard back yet so maybe they're gone already.

Btw, didnt you buy a headliner from Ihor? I was the poor chump sitting in the jeep so that his double-parked *** wouldnt get towed while he was in Greyhound to ship that huge box

Yup, I bought a headliner from him. I was wondering how anyone would ship it, but Ihor definitely did a good job. When I picked it up from the station the box wouldn't even fit in my car. Definitely under-estimated its size.

On a side note: I bought me some JDM Efini Badges, wooohooo !
