Door Panels
Has anyone converted the 86-88 style interoir door panels to the 89-91 style? And could 6.5's fit after the conversion? OR would kick panels be the way to go?

If there's a front hole on the 86-88 in the same place on the 89-92s, then it would probably work.
Does yours have panels have holes in the middle now?
Not sure about the screw holes alligning though.

Right now the speakers are located under the dash. It's not for a vert, its for a 88 T2. Are there holes for the speakers in the 88 doors? Meaning is the sheet metal cut for speakers? And could the door panels from a 89 fit on a 88?
Thanks

For the front guage pod style door panels, you'll need 1" spacers for the OEM door speakers and a 2" spacer for aftermarket speakers. Otherwise the window will hit it.
I cheated and cut the metal 12" diameter round rear tower spacers for a 5 1/4" speaker and attached them to the door. That put me about 2" above the OEM holes and sealed the speakers for some nice bass responce.
For the rears I used the plastic crutchfield spacers.
