Talking Dont Know Any Thing. Need Opinions & Constructive Critisim.: "About audio"

Car Audio
I have been doing alot of research and talking to other people that are audio freaks and this what i have pieced together for a audio sys. was just wanting to know if im on the right track for good sound.

Kenwood DNX7140

Infinity Kappa 693.9i (4)
6" x 9" 3-Way 330W Car Speakers

Rockford Fosgate T110D4
10" 1200W Dual 4-Ohm Subwoofer (2)

and looking at a JL audio amp to finish it off.

what is good sound? Wow, that reminds me of the analog vs digital debates. It is all up to your tastes. I dont care for heavy bass, so brands that cater to that crowd would not entice me to make a purchase.

I have an old kenwood that is just sounds putrid, but I suspect that it is not 100% anymore. I am also running Infiniti Speakers in my home. I plan on using them for a long time.

If the products are in your budget, and the brands are at least respectable, I say go for it.

You want constructive critisism so I'll give it. I have not liked Kenwood decks for years. They always have problems, most common being skipping after its a few years old. Plus I just dont like the looks of them. Many better possibilities for same price. Alpine, Eclipse...

Second, where are you going to put two sets of 6X9's? You cant fit those in the rear or front fyi...
I barely got my 6.5's in the front and went with 5.25's matching in the rear spots. I heard you can do 4X6's but I'm not a fan of oval speakers. Also, no reason to go 3-way. Its overrated and over priced. Stick with 2-ways, they are cleaner sounding and not so tinny.

third, you must love your bass. I think 2-10's in the FD is way too much and will most likely fill your whole hatch for the box it will require and also the size of the amp to power it. I'd stick to a single ten or do 2-8's instead.

JL makes solid amps. so does Rockford and many others. Hope this helps. For good pricing on car audio and helpful sales use woofersetc.com. I have used them several times and they take care of you.

Never been a fan of kenwood hu's or plan to own one. I put a similar kenwood deck in a car. 6-7'' screen, dvd player gps, Might be the same one your looking. I thought it sounded prettty bad compared to alpine, eclipse and pioneer.

You can get a pioneer avic-z3 for the same price or cheaper.
http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVIC-Z.../dp/B0017HXLLA

I'd also take a look at eclipse.

Go with components over 6x9's

A single 8w7 in a ported box with a good amp will hit really hard. I dont think theres a need for 2 Unless you like bass. Besides if you build a box with 8w7's, the thing will probably weigh 80-100 pounds. Those sub are heavy.

JL amps are good. Others good amps to look at are zapco, arc audio, memphis, soundstream, the old US amps(when they were made in florida).

i have looked at the eclips touch screen and they are very nice. the touch screens with the top ratings that i can find have been the eclipse, pioneer, and the kenwood. so now it just comes down to personal preferance and other people's experienses. so what is with the componant speakers? know of them but nothing about them.

I would suggest getting these speaker adapters http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/5-25-...ht_3794wt_1201

Then you can run 6.5's in the front. Otherwise you would only be able to run 4x6's.

Can't go wrong with Infinity Kappa's. So your good on that speaker choice.

For sub's...
I personally like tight clean bass so I would go with an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10' in a sealed box.

SSSEEEEEE Now thats what i mean. it may have been my fault cause i did not know the right words to use. CLEAN the sounds MUST BE CLEAN. so if i want to listen to my rock loud then it must still be CLEAN.
