Other than a 17x8 +47 (front or rear), and 18x8.5 +37 (front only), those wheels don't come in any FD friendly offsets. Because they're narrow, I doubt anybody would buy a set of 17x8s for all around.

Basically, the lower the offset of the wheel, the more the wheel protrudes away from the car. When you have wheels with too low of an offset, you run the risk of hitting your fenders and pulling them out. If you reference the pics of the drift car above, notice that its fenders are flared; they will allow the car to run wheels with a low offset and not hit anything.

Depends on the width of the wheel. The wider the wheel, the higher you'd want the offset to be. This keeps the wheels closer in. Stock FD wheel offset is +50. Generally speaking, anything between +40 - +50 should work, but again, it depends on how wide your wheels are.

well, since i plan on my fd being black....i was thinking about getting the gram lights 57pro in gold with the polished lip...17x7 48 offset in the front and 18x8 40 offset in the rear.

does this sound like a good setup for a weekend driver??

maybe even 18x7.5 offset=40

if these numbers are wrong...or if i have the wrong idea...please help

Stock FD wheels are 8" wide. 7" or 7.5" wide wheels are more narrow and a downgrade. On a stock bodied car, you can go up to 9" up front, and up to 10" out back with minimal suspension modifications.
