Does anyone like the pre-99 taillights better?

Seems like I'm the only one

pre 99 tailights are cool but rotaries have the tradition of having the 3 circle lights on the vehicles, i personally like the 99spec tail lights better, clearer and keeps the tradition alive. But i can see why you like the pre 99 lights better, they look clean but i guess its all on preferance. Just my 2 cents

Forgot to add, i love the look of that jspec enfini 7.

KWH: I am with you. I like the pre99s better. Our cars will definately look good when everyone else has already jumped on the 99spec bandwagon.

Yeah, pre99 is better, both front and back. Should be plenty of spare front bumpers available for us when everyone has gone 99spec.

meh, the 3 circles look reallllly good, if I ever changed my mind, all i have to do is take off my cf tailight cover, so t hat provides alot of flexibility.

I personally like the pre 99 tails better, for some reason I think the 99 specs look "cheap". Don't hate, its just my opinion.

I like the original tails as well. They suit the car better. I also think Efini emblems are butt ugly so when swapping the stock toilet bowl emblems I opted for the Flying M versions instead.

They do, because most people have home made ones.

hey, not all homemade ones look cheap...you have never seen mine...I do think most that are converted, does not look good up close...the way I do mine looks freakin awsome and adds a lot of depth to the taillight... the pictures, of my conversion do no justice...These lights you would have to see in person to really enjoy them...

And justly so IMO. Paying $500 for a pair of tailights is ******* ridiculous as it is, but even more so when you can get the same effect for the cost of some paint and the time to put it on them right.

I like 99's, but there are so many better things you can buy for an FD with the half a grand the real versions cost these days.

That picture makes the pre-'99 design look really good, but in almost all cases I prefer the '99-spec design. I've compared the two in person, and the '99-spec tailights look far better.

agree ^ also the black paint....but i think that it would look even better with 99's.... pre 99 taillights look unfinished...

To me, the 96+ tails look much better and modernize the rear end (in a good way). They also continue the styling from the 89-91 tails. I think they look more sophisticated than the slightly amorphous squares of the 93-95 tails.

+1. My thoughts exactly!

I actually just got my '99 spec taillights less then a week ago, and i'm still amazed at how much better my car looks.

I like the '99 spec better in pictures, but not in person, for some reason. Go figure.

In either configuration, the FD is still a schweet looking car after all these years.

Here is the hierarchy:

Real "99 Spec" Taillights > 93-95 Taillights > Fake "99 Spec" Taillights

The fake ones are ghey. They don't look the same especially in person. I don't care what you say.

i'm going to have to agree with pianoprodigy. sprayed tails are pretty obvious, they're just not the way that they were designed to look. the sprayed ones just don't have the depth and clarity in the circles like the real ones do. that heiarchy works.
