Defi gauges?

Hey has anybody here tried out thoes new defi gauges or ridden in a car that has them? If so, how well do they work and how responsive are they? I am torn between thoes or the blitz gauges.

Stutter? Non-precise?

The Defi link (or BF) gauges are extremely high quality gauges. Even better, you can get them in english units. While the backlighting of the Link or BF gauges does not match the stock lighting, it is very high quality.

Quality-wise, you could go either way. I went with Defi D gauges because of the aesthetics; they match the stock gauges and backlighting almost exactly.

Just a heads up, the BF series is NOT available in english units. And an even bigger heads-up, they will be available with red amber backlighting at the end of August.

Correct, but the "normal" Link series are available in english units.

That's cool about the new backlighting option for the BF series, but I still wouldn't pay the price premium for those things...ouch!

Yeah, those gauges are so expensive, specially just for gauges. But they look oh so good.

The D gauges look great too, speed king, your set up looks awesome. I saw a picture with those gauges lit up at night, and they looked orange as opposed to the stock backlight that is red. Are those gauges more of an orange or a red?

The stock backlighting is orange and the needles are red. I've got a similar setup as speedking. The d-gauges are almost dead on. The orange is just a hair off. They're LED backlit as opposed to incandecent for the gauge cluster.

As far as accuracy, I believe they all use stepping motors. I don't know how different their internal electronics and sending units are from line to line, but I believe the're all pretty equal. The down side to the d-series is the boost gauge reads in 2.5 psi increments, so being specific is not possible.

Does anyone know if the new BF series gauges are gonna be the same backlight as the D series or is it gonna be red like the stock backlight?

Stock backlighting is amber (or orange or whatever you want to call it ), it's definitely *not* red. The D gauges are amber backlit as well. Maybe the lighting was off in the picture you saw, but in reality, the gauges match the stock gauge's backlighting almost exactly and they look OEM.

Defi BF gauges are backlit white IIRC. "Hyperite" mentions above that they are coming out with amber backlit models in August.

They call the lighting "amber red", so...I guess that's ambiguous enough. But don't worry, I'll be getting them when they come out, so I'll be sure to post some pictures

Awesome. I've always loved the BF gauges, even with the white backlight, but it will probably look awesome with the "Amber" backlight.

Dont forget to post pics.

IIRC, The BF's are also available only in 60mm.

If they made them in 52mm and w/amber/orange/red lighting, I might consider upgrading once prices settle.

one thing you should know about the BLITZ DC,
they do not offer an EGT. so if you need one, go DEFI link.

a good thing about BLITZ you can run oil temp and water temp off the same gauge.
