Defi Gauge Calibration

Well I got my Defi D-Gauge Boost Gauge from the Rx7store (arrived very quickly too ). When I pulled the gauge from the pack, it was reading 2 psi. I checked the directions, nothing on calibration. I called a local speed shop, no idea how to calibrate (which worried me). I checked the Defi webpage, and it has the same stuff as the directions, with no mentioning of calibration.

Does anyone have any idea on how to Calibrate the Boost Gauge? thanks.

lucky bastard! I seem to remember calibrating my Autometer in my previous TII... but I can't remember what I did. also, I probably didn't do it correctly, but I wasn't that worried about it since the gauge sucked and I was hoping to get a new gauge anyways.

I have them too, as far as I know its just plug and play eventhough its on a certain value. SO plug it in and it should calibrate, they calibrate each time the ACC is put to on.

The Boost gauge is pure mechanical. It can't calibrate itself. I turned it on, Vac looked a little off... which is expected. Then I boosted up to around 12 psi bone stock. It's definately off 2psi all around. If a mechanical gauge is reading a value other than 0 with all off... naturally it's going to be off through the whole range of the gauge.

There's no way to calibrate it unless you pull the cover off and move the needle.

Which if you dident do correctly would screw it up more,

Send it back and get a new one. replacing a $200 boost gauge is cheaper than a $2000 engine.

Yeah I sent an email to Defi to see what they say. I'm not worried about paying anything for a new gauge since it was already screwed up when they sent it to me. also, the engine is fairly fresh and pulling 17-18 in-Hg on the gauge as-is. I'll just let it in and live with the 2psi difference until I hear from Defi.

mine is off by 1 psi. I contacted Defi and they told me to contact the place I bought it for warranty problems. I bought it off ebay and may not be able to do anything. Oh well. Its off only maybe a pound. Defi is a good company and has great customer service, just check with who you bought it from.
