Deep Crystal Blue Mica paint for FD

So I was at the dealership getting my oil changed the other day and I noticed a color that I liked on a new Mazda 3: Deep Crystal Blue Mica.

Has anybody tried painting with this color? I might go with this when I get my Montego Blue FD repainted.

Im torn between this and Subarus Sunrise yellow. I really need to see the price difference between the two.

Not a fan of Mazda Sunburst Yellow? I think it's a bit more orange/reddish than Subaru Sunrise Yellow.

I'll check on the price of Deep Crystal Blue Mica when I visit the body shop.

Montego Blue is really nice, when it's not 20yrs old.
We have a DCBM 3 series, and it's cool. Never liked the IBM or other deep blues on an FD.

I agree – I like Montego Blue even more than I thought I would. I'm going to give her a wax and see if I can bring out some of the deep color from this 20-year old paint.

I'm a bit torn on my Montego Blue as well. I am a fan of the deep blues on FD's like IBM. I think I'm going to bring it to a specialty/restoration shop and see if they can bring back the luster that it once had before I jump the gun on a color change. Let me know how your efforts go!

For a complete paint job, I don't think it is the choice of colors that makes difference in total cost, but choice of the clear coat that may make huge difference in the cost of a complete paint job

Paint can make a big difference. Some paints are more complex than others and have to be applied a certain way (for both color and brand). Bodywork is where a ton of that money goes IMO.
