i have a dashboard that has a few cracks in it. i would like to know if there is anything that i can do to repair it or i have been told by a few people that replacing the dash is very expensive and most places dont recommend doing it. is it really that hard?

Yes.

I was going to replace my dash Because I replaced everything else interior wise to a different color.

After taking out the donor dash I got real paraniod.

The clips that hold it in break very easily. And there's electrical harness stuff clipped to it. It is not easy. I even got to destroy stuff taking it out and it was still hard. It is hanging on my garage wall right now.

You'd need to be an Rx7 surgeon like RETed.

If you're a novice like me. Then if you take out that dash and replace it yourself, chances are (not doubting your ability just being practical) Nothing electrical will ever work again. And if it does, I bet your dash would rattle at certian speeds.
