CYM 2nd gen
CYM 2nd gen
-Hi all!..my car is black at the moment (2nd gen) and planning to repaint it yellow in the future. Im aiming for the rare 3rd gen CYM or Competition Yellow Mica (for those who didnt know) paint job.
I see alot of 2nd gen in this forum that has the yellow paint but only a couple has the CYM. So, IF you tell the body shop that you want the CYM color do they all know about it??..IS it expensive to get the car that color??..any info would be appreciated!.
Also how many of you 2nd ge owners wish they have yellow cars.

I think its about $3k and up for a good paint job. Depends if you want a factory. I believe I have heard it cost about $6k for a factory FD paint job. Just make sure to go to a reputable shop. Money is no cost when its your paintjob.
I'm sure they know what Competition Yellow Mica is and can get the same exact color Mazda uses

the biggest problem with the color change is that you have to take the whole car apart, it a lot of labor. www.2751engineering.com

I would forget about getting CYM. Go with a yellow that is close to it. I dont know how much the CYM would cost, but I do know that touch up paint for CYM is roughly 40 dollars for 13 milliliters
