Smile Custom pedals in 3rd gen :)

Hey guys, just thought I'd bring my .02 cents into some designing I bought some OBX Racing pedals that are blue in colour - they're not bad, I would've prefered silver, but I'm going for the blue look in my car anyway Anyhow as you may know, OBX pedals are see-through with holes in the middle and they don't look too great on the stock pedals in the 3rd gen. Also, the pedals in the 3rd gen don't come out...lol So, most racing pedal applications I found are clip-ons, which aren't bad, but I wanted something more permanent and also, since the OBX pedals are about the same size, you can't even get the clips to go around the pedals - the only one that works is the gas pedal. Anyhow, what I did was I drilled holes in the stock pedals since they were warn out anyway and where the clips from the OBX pedals went, I just used the screws and the nuts without the actual clips to hold the pedals against the stock ones. I also cut some sheet aluminum to cover the holes underneath the OBX pedals to make them look better over the stock ones. I did however clip the gas pedal on top since I couldn't really drill it. Anyhow, I just wanted to show you guys what it looked like. I think they look pretty good and for you guys that want heel-toe, they're great...although my feet are too big, so the stock ones were good for that anyway Also, these new pedals have great grip, nice colour and a good feel to them too. Let me know what you guys think and if you have any questions -Joe

I like what you did, small custom work is always nice to look at and see how the guy did things. Anyways have you given it any thought on grinding down the stockers so you cannot see them out the sides of the OBX's? (look at 2nd picture and you'll see what I am talking about)

Just a thought,
Nick

No, it's the OBX brake pedal has a side part to it that is a bit wider and the glare makes it look silver. The stock pedals are not showing at all...btw - I'm taking the new pic now

Ok, well these aren't the best and didn't really get what you asked for since it's night here, but I thought I'd show you how they looked at night although the camera doesn't show the best of them. There's blue light above the pedals, so it highlights them more. This first shot is the blue light...

This next shot is a more open shot of the setup, because this is at night, I had to use the nightshot on my camera, so most stuff is green...lol But you get the idea of the setup. I'll try to get ONE LAST shot during the day of the contrast of the setup against the rest of the car.
