Cleaning exhaust residue

I guess my car runs pretty rich. I got all this black stuff on my bumper from my exhaust. How do you clean it off? Conventional carwashing doesn't seem to work.

regularly dusting off the bumper is a good way to keep it clean. After a while, the dust will stick onto the bumper and needs wax cleaner to get off, which is a lot of work. Putting some durable wax and polish will help keeping the dust off of the paint.
