Cheap alternative to metal door sills?

OK, I'm a little apprehensive about posting this, but what the hell.....
I've always felt the OEM interior on the FD was a little dull. Everything was black save the chrome bezel rings. Like many here I considered the accessory door sills but I worried because the metal sills seem to get beat up looking. They also required drilling into the rocker panel, so if you ever wanted to take them off, you were left with holes.
A few weeks back I was surfin' ebay one night and ran across these.

On a whim and for ~ $25 shipped I bought them. They are made of approx. 1/8" thick plastic with what appears to be real chrome overlay. The entire underside is peel and stick adhesive. IMHO, they don't look too damn bad, actually a little better than than the pictures would suggest. They add a little "flair" to the interior, at least with the door open but without the cost or drilling. Time will tell how durable they are, but if they get beat up, I don't have much in them and heat gun and adhesive remover should leave no evidence. Ok, flame suits on..........proceed.

I actually like them. Not something you will ever want your foot to drag across, because the first time it happens they will look like crap in they are dirty as it will scratch the **** out of them.

But if you are like me and enter and exit your car like it is made of gold, they should last a long time. My biggest pet peeves are people that use their ******* foot to push the door open or just drag it across the door panel when they are exiting the car.

Hmm, I'm kinda torn as I have found a couple other versions. I kinda want to get a set as my door sills have some scratches that drive me nuts. I'm kinda leaning towards this version.....

Thanks Mike.
Spandy,
I did light test of sorts on these using some semi-hard soled shoes before installation but wasn't really able to leave much of a mark. They will probably scratch over time, but not as fragile as I first thought. It's made of pretty dense/hard plastic, much like the plastic of the OEM door sills but with chrome over it.
You guys are surprising me a little. Thanks. The forum can be a tough crowd and I was just hoping it wasn't TOO cheezy looking.
I saw those you pictured and nearly went with those. They have some other versions too. Just be sure to check the demensions, especially the width.

The sill on my FD is badly scuffed and worn, almost to bare metal in places near the edge of the plastic parts. I'm going ot order this and see if it coveres well. if not, who cars 25$ well wasted.
