Center speaker location on FD

Just wondering if you can fit any standard sized speaker into the stock center location. (for dolby 5.1 setup)

You can if you will find a small speaker.

A 2" would fit with some adapting.
But I do not know a good coaxial in that micro size.

Will anything just drop in? (newbie at stereo stuff) Never had bose so I've never had a reason to open lid.

Hi,

you can see some pix of the center speaker location on my website.

You can enlarge some pix by just clicking them.
I hope that will help a a bit to give you an impression.

Even non-bose has speaker there .... 2" speaker with about 1.5" mouting diameter. If you are looking for dolby 5.1, you'll need to look for manufactor specific 5.1 center channels. There are some out there. I believe Kenwood makes one that should fit.
