cd player install on a 10th ann

Ok guys i got my sony cd palyer about 3 weeks ago and i go and put it in and no soudn from the speakers and the cd powers up but no sound. I was told i have to bypass the stock amp for the speakers, how would i bypass them?

go to best buy and buy an adapter for your car. i had to do the same thing it was $17.99

wel i have a mazda to universials harness and then uni to sony and i soldered them together and nosound put it plays the cd jsut no sound?

you can use the factory amps. There should be a plug (white I believe) that has a single wire in it. That should be the amp turn on wire. connect the blue wire from the head unit to it and you ahould have sound.

You can only use the factory amps if the new stereo only has less than 15 watts a channel output.

Otherwise you need to wire past them.

Output doesn't really matter. You just have to be careful with the volume. I have hooked up a Pioneer Primier DEH-P940MP (50 X 4) up this way with no problems. I could only turn the volume up to about 9 before it started to distort, but at that volume it was louder than the stock head.

well yes you can push the stock amps, such as that, but your system would sound radically better, without the stock amp and all of your 50 peak watts going to the speakers.

You should rewire and run your system correctly instead of micky mouse.

welli did it the hard way i bypassed hte amps only tok about 1 and 1/2 hours to run all the wire and all that. thanks for all the help

You shouldn't have to run wire... just use the stcok wire, and at each amp just jump the wire so that it goes to the speaker itself, rather than through the amp.

I guess I cought up in what actually works instead of what is the best way to do it.
