carputer mission
carputer mission
im going to do what that audi guy did... lots of time this coming winter. and we have too many computers in my house. i could just rip a graphic card, sound card, wireless card, HD, out of the old 225mhz. haha mhz havent heard that in a LONG time. school ends next week and ive been wanting to do something crazy.
screen i dunno where i'd put it...
im thinking computer either in the glove, storage, trunk, or taking out the spare tire. OR does anyone know how much space is under the seats? are they hollow? man im getting so many ideas with this... maybe i'll even rip apart my klipschs and put them in the car. i'll definitely take pics when i do it.

How big is this thing going to be? Are you going to use one of those 12V mini-project PC's or are you going to hack an ATX system somehow?
Wait... (looking at your sig) you finished with the Laser red paint? Got any pics?

get a mini-itx system. the Mobo is only 7"x7". and there are lots of 12v Ps for them. and don't just shove the screen in the glove box. If your going to do this do it right and incorperate it some where.
yeah im going to use mini-itx i think i might make my own case so that it will only be as big as it needs to be. i did some research and the computer itself will probably cost around $700 for the parts. i dont know anything about little touchscreens. anyone got advice on that?

that is black car paint in the interior...
those are actually pics taken by yanni before he sold it to me. i couldnt take pics since Dee is working on the tranny and exhaust right now. He got the lip painted black and the wheels gunmetal... i thought the stock wheels looked better as silver though... i guess just cuz they arent that pretty. i want to get BBS RS-GT in black diamond, or something similar (and cheaper). i love the thin cross spokes... thats all i plan for the exterior though, its supposed to be a shaved, evil, waiting to kill...

Try looking @ the forums on www.mp3car.com, most people are using a 7" touchscreen monitor. i am planning on doing this w/ laptop internals and the touchscreen...
www.digitalww.com has some VGA LCDs for sale. 7" wide, Panasonic and Hitachi LCDs with USB or Serial touch screen.

DSCustoms sells the touchscreen...There is also a company that has built a carputer and fitted it into a single din slot..I was thinking about relocating the a/c ***** next to the hand brakes...in that way you would have some room...
