Carputer Mark III Complete!
I had three days off in a row and couldn't resist the urge to put my carputer back together and make a nicer fitting sub enclosure (old one went in the spare tire well). My wife's car si still not working, but I'm waiting for a new ignition module that's taking forever to get here.
It's nothing super fancy, just a 1.1ghz Athlon with 256mb RAM and a 60gb HDD running Windows XP and MediaEngine. I did the skin myself and it's tweaked so it's really easy to navigate while driving. The screen is a 7" touchscreen from Lilliput.
Here's the inards (you can click on all the pictures to make them larger):

I pride myself because this is the first carputer that hot glue isn't the primary means of holding everything together.
The enclosures (I need to make some trim pieces to hide the seems of the vinyl, which sucks to lay BTW):

And here's the interface:

Hopefully it'll last longer then the last one that died of power supply failure at 6 months of use. I just need to find bigger fuses for the amp since I keep destroying those and I'll be set.
Oh, and yes, I did get the idea from Spyder's excellent enclosures.

Pretty Sweet, I have a similar install except I crammed everything behind the screen (don't ask, it's a mess but works)

The screen is mounted on a ghetto aluminum bracket I fabricated awhile ago with electrical tape wrapped around it to keep it from rattling.

I just made a little carrying case for it here at work and I'll take a picture of it when I get home, it's pretty rad.
The Mainboard is a Via M10000 it's a 7cmX7cm footprint, according to the specs, and is one of the smalles mainboards that still has a serial port, which was important for me with my AEM setup... so I can connect to it via the builtin PC, and don't have to wip out a laptop to make minor "Driveability" changes....
I also Soldered a lot of my own Little 90 deg. Adaptors, so that they'd clear the back AC vents, with the big plastic ones that cable manufacturers use they didn't work as well....
I had to Un-Solder and Re-Solder the Antenna Connection to the Netgear Wireless Ethernet adapter to get it to clear the rear, but works flawlessly, I can usually get 1-2 Unlocked Access points at major intersections, and starbucks's WAP's from 1 block away with an interior mounted 8-db antennea....
