Question carbon fiber hoods

I got a question, Why is it that all carbon fiber equipment for cars is a dull black color. It seems like you could paint it or something. Personally, i think it looks retarted.

uhh. 1) you can paint it and 2) the only dull CF is made just to be strong and light, not every one has bling as a need on a hood, finder, ect. when they are doing 120 thrue an S-turn.

CF comes in other colours as well if you don't like the black.

People who arn't painting their CF panels are either:

1 Rice

2 too poor after buying the Cf to paint it.

I'm a big fan of "why advertize?" Other drivers shouldn't know what I have untill after I smoke 'em.

why to keep a CF hood unpainted.....

1) it still looks good unlike primered rice
2) it is carbon fiber which everybody knows is the best
3) (most important) You can save that paint money to buy something else. Why waste money when you don't need too.

Unless you just think carbon fiber looks great or you are adamant about lightening up your car, don't buy it. Fiberglass will do you just fine if you are painting it.

I know you can paint carbon fiber, but is it true that itll come out dull? I was told the paint wont come out the same way on carbon fiber than on the rest of the car, and so it wont match?

how much of a difference is a carbon fiber hood in weight compared to our stock hoods. I doubt its much the stocker only weighs like 17 or 18 lbs I think. But for me its all a personal taste and for looks they dont do that much unless you do some serious road racing and have vents for the heat.
