i have a 5" LCD, a seperate dvd player and thinking about doing my xbox.....

i want 2 8" speakers in the rear , and then the speakers in the dash. ill be getting a 4 channel 4ohm 100w per channel amp (i dont want to bass)....

now the question, the guy told me that instead of running the RCA audio jacks straight from the dvd player/xbox to the amp, i would need a deck with aux input, then run that back to the amp.....

is this true? why wouldnt it work with the xbox/dvd ran straight to the amp? does the deck work as a pre-amp?

 

Uh, yes, you need a pre-amp! Unless the x-box has a variable out!

 

Yeah cause the deck is your volume controll, unless you get an amp with a volume ****. or hook up a pot up to the RCA wires, it's going to be tough to controll volume without a head unit...

 

yeah, you need a deck w/ an AUX In or an FM modulator(like a cd changer uses) Your deck has all your controls(volume,bass,treble,etc) as well as your tuner......Mod your Xbox w/ a bigger hard drive and you can store all your movies and games on it witout having to carry everything w/ you

 

already done, running a cat5 female jack to the back rear quarter panel for easy hook up if i wanna transfer stuff =]
