Candied Paint?
I was reading an article about a cars paintjob, and they said it was candied, to give it a deep effect.
Anyone explain to me what candied paint is?
Looking to get my car painted soon, and need to know what to tell the guys

not sure exactly what it is, but candy is basically just a type of paint that is used to cover a base color that gives it the appearance of a deep paint. old school hot rodders used it all the time. kandy apple red is by far the most common. also a newer effect used is called ice pearl. it's made with round glass beads of various color and it is truly an amazing effect in person. my girlfriend's prelude is gettin painted with it right now

Candy paint is a combination of three paints to give it a deep effect. It uses a grey base which is then painted over with a clear gold that has the little sparkels. That then is painted over by a clear red coat that gives it the final look. its a long process and it cost a lot. If you have 2f2f in dvd you can see what i mean.

This is true, I would change if I where you. Last thing you want is to have a paint job that you don't like and have to do it again. Can you say $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
