can you paint using?
is there anyway you could paint a car with an hvlp gun using an air tank like an 11 gallon
for example this one

30 gallon is the absolute smallest and even then you are pushing it. Some can do it, BUT paint doesnt like sitting around for your compressor to catch up before you can lay the next pass. The only reason i can normally get away with it is because i dont spray an entire car at once, its a quarter here, a hood there, two doors, ETC. First and only time it did affect me was when i sprayed my friend ford F350! That was a HUUGGGEEEE BITCH! hahaha
LOL just saw what brand air tank you suggested, i wont even use that companies gun for primer!! Check out the sharpe HVLP guns, you can get em for 150-200ish. Its what i started out with it, now i have a satajet digital 2000 for both primer and color/clear. yes, two different $600 guns
Youll also want an air/oil dryer of some sort to filter your air coming from the compressor and a dedicated "clean" air line for spraying only.

no i had never thought about it and didn't know if that would supply enough pressure for an hvlp or even just a conventional
im not taking it to maaco because i can do the same job at home for less money and better results, ive been doing body work for a while and i just want to have a little project to do at home rather than doing it at school and having everybody mess it up

those don't do much better than the ones from walmart depending on models that is

yup a BUGATI model.
Prolly wouldnt take advice from probably theee only guy on this board that has sprayed a bugati of any sort...

sata not much better than walmart guns? i spray with iwata primer and base/clear gun and i would take sata over them any day. i have a 90 gallon in my garage and thats enough so i can lay down a coat on the whole car with out the compessor running and stirring up dust. anyway to answer the question a 11 gallon air tank would be great for your car models.

actually no i don't know about compressors seeing how the shop i do my work at already has a compressor and i don't favor sata jets because they seem to clog up too easily
the iwata 400 has never given me that problem
i've used three or four different satas and they all gave me that problem
the guns are used everyday and the iwata has lasted the longest without giving us anyproblems

Well that sucks a fat one, I got a good deal on a new 21gallon that flows only 7SCFM @ 40PSI 
I planned on doing sections at a time though. I planned on breaking it into groups. Bumpers, fenders, sunroof and mirrors, hatch, hood then body or reverse of that. This thread makes me weary.

I spray XXX black a lot, black is a MFer, make sure you spray dust free and youre air line is oil/moisture free as well!!!
