I just replaced mine on my FD with a cool looking red & black leather Sparco. Other than a screw on OEM replacement which runs around $100, all of the replacements, like Momo and Sparco are universal mounts w/ 3 little screws that you tighten into the shaft. However, my **** keeps coming off in my hand!!! Talk about about a rush! Now I'm a fairly strong guy, and if I make the little allen screws any tighter, the wrench is going to snap! I figured I could use a little "Locktite" on the screws but I'm afraid that the problem is not them vibrating out, but them digging into the soft aluminum shaft, in which case the Loctite will keep me from retightening. I've e-mailed Sparco for help. Anyone else had this problem? P.S. I discovered during this process that the OEM **** is weighted... I mean it's heavy! I assume this is for balance and feel. Anyway, the new cool **** weighs nada and therefore the shifter feels lighter and flimsier.

A few people I know have had this problem, one though figured it out... Take about a 8 inch long peice of electrical tape and roll it inside out long ways, make sure you get it rolled nice and small. Then your 'sticky string' and put it in the top of the threads before you put that black little cup thingy then do everything how you normally do it, it should keep the cup from pulling up and no more slaps in the face with the shifter
