My window motor is dead (tried applied 12V with jumper cables no luck), but I am having trouble taking it the window regulator out, there is no clearance at the top. I could probably get the regulator out if the window was rolled halfway down, but that thing is rolled up doesn't want to budge. I tried using a vice grip to pull the metal cable on the rails but the window won't budge.

Any ideas on how to proceed with this?

You may be able to undo the bolts from the regulator to the glass and that might make it easier. Essentially what I did in my FC as I couldn't get the window down to get it out. Disassemble in place.
