Bose snake w/aftermarket sub
I have read a few posts, but most are old and non definitive.
Has anyone replaced the bose subs in the snake with aftermarket head, subs and amp? If so, was it worth the investment?
I don't want window shaking bass, just a nice low mellow non rattling bass like the Bose provided, and keep the OEM look with the snake.

I've also heard of people doing this, with little success. What's your current issue? Is it broken or not good enough? Are you set on keeping the snake?
In my experience, replacing the 4 main speakers with modern coax's is plenty of bass for the average bear. You could just unplug the snake, if you like the visual.
If it's broken, and you want to keep it, then you're better off finding a working used one

Touring only has two front speakers, we don't get 4. It's not the visual, it's the way it sounds. It hits cleaner than a 10 or 12in sub does...but, like most, my amps are shot, and head unit display is failing.
I was hoping to mimic the bass quality, smooth and clean.
I've had subs before, and I personally like the bose snake effect better.
