Blacked out all blinkers/turn lamps on car

I just got done with the long process of removing all blinkers/turn signals/lamps from my car and blacking them out

i was sorta tempted to go w/ one coat on the blinkers as it made them look tinted like the 99 signals

but overall I am happy with the way the front fascia looks now

I am in need of a passenger side blinker as I sorta messed that one up, the texture is rough because i forgot to heat the plastic before applying the paint

it looks mean from the front now, and the back is sexy

who can't wait to see some pics?

oh yeah, and mods feel free to move this to the RIGHT section once the thread has died down

i don't see a lot of people doing this, so i want to let everyone know there is an alternative to an aftermarket frontend

phillips head screw driver

the only tricky ones are the front running lamps on the sides

just cut the wheels and you can find the screw, loosen them and you can pull the units out

yeah, one screw on the inside, you have to turn the tire to get to it, you just loosen it and the lamp can be pried out

I've got my turn signals tinted on my VR. If anyone wants pics, let me know.

There is another picture of a VR FD with tinted stock turn signals on here somethere.....

Can you get some daytime pics of that? It looks nice in those pics, but still not sure.

Also, you need some 99 taillights on there!

hey mahjik.... what did you use to tint those? My brother wants to do his taillights black like that and he is trying to decide which road to go down. Thanks.

PS: your turn signals looks mean as hell! Nice job.

I found two different products that will do the job:

Niteshade:
http://www.modernperformance.com/all...des_tint.shtml

or Smoke Tail:
http://www.redlinezone.com/paint.htm

I used Smoke Tail, as that was the only brand I could find locally (and it was expensive, about $30 for one small can). However, it gave me the result I was looking for, so it was well worth the price to me.

I don't know what exactly he used, but he mentions that he only used "1 coat" on the side markers. So I'm sure he used some type of tinting paint.

For reference, by turn signals are 3 coats.

Nice Job 93BlackFD!

I have a Silver FD. I wonder if it's possible to make the side an rear markers "clear". Besides buying them off eBAY...
