Black FD w/ black rims?

I have seen a great deal of Black FD's with gunmetal rims, but not a whole lot with black rims. Anyone have any pics of black on black? I would LOVE to see a nice Black FD with powdercoated SSR Integrals (black of course), but I don't think anyone has that. Thanks guys!

Absolutely SICK Batman!!! That has to be the shinyest black paint I have ever seen, especially on a 10 year old car! Is it that glassy up close?

The prob with black wheels on a black car is that they do not photograph well at all. It looked a lot better in person. Too much black makes the contrast very high, and photos don't turn out very well.

Plus you can't see that these wheels are mesh unless you look really closely.

Also, the bolts that hold the rim halves to the center section really stand out if you don't get them painted black as well. On these wheels, the hardware is close in to the center of the weels, so they look like big-a$$ tires instead of low-profile.

Cheers,

Steve

Don't photgraph well????

Did u see my pics????

Photograph quality is in the film, lighting, exposure, aperture, timing........

However, if u spend $$$$$ on a Nikon N90s or F5 then U can just point and shoot and make a 220,000 miles car look gooood without using photoshop to edit anything.

There is a difference in camera price and the kinda pics they take........... 99% of Digital cameras still can't even touch my Nikon film at 4.5 frames per second and picture quality........ unless u want to spend $$$$ on the High end Nikon Digital SLR.

The new Nikon F5 does 8 frames per second......... a Digital camera will run outta batteries faster then a film camera will run outta film if they even try to get close to the frames per second a professional camera uses......

hiya Batman,

kinda OT, but we know you use Zaino, but just out of curiosity what all do you use and what steps did you take? where the the ones listed on the zaino sites FAQ or applications link?

thanks

PS...You should do like a FAQ on how to give your 10 yo car a mirror like finish with Zaino products.

The key is the inital prep work.......... just like painting the car - it's 50% prep work.

Wash with DAWN soap.

Use clay bar and wash again wtih DAWN.

Apply Z1. THisone u can share the expense with ur buddies since u will use it once, unless u wash ur car with DAWN again.

Thne I use Z2 for swirl marks and Z5 for the wet shine.

U'll be using Z5 most of the time and Z2 every other time.

But, for rock chips and scratches that is deeper then what Ziano can help you with, I use the $8 Turtle Wax Color cure. It has actual pigments in the polish and chapstick to fill rock chips and so forth...... Not as shiny as ZAINO, but it sure picks up some of the areas that Zaino leaves off on.

I wash and wax it once a week on Friday. It's a black car and shows dirt easy.

Zaino says that it's not required to wax after every wash, if u use regular car wash soap like ZYMOL.

Zaino lasts several washes.

But I tend to be a bit extreme about washing and waxing it every week.

It's really ur call.

Did u know that detailing ur car is like 30 - 45 minutes of aerobic workout at the gym?

Sounds like ur gaining in both areas.......

Thanks Batman, I agree that giving your car the full workover can turn into quite a workout. Since I just got this car I wanna give it a really good bath and a nice coat of wax.

thanks for the tips, time for me to go look for some Zaino

Get some Turtle wax Color Cure........ it's cheap and works in different areas.......

What's good about Zaino is that there is NO white mark residue..... something that mothers, megiars and the other companies have yet to tackle........
