best way to clean R1 lip

my R1 lip is in physical good condition, but has definitely got some light scuff marks and faded over the years. i would imagine that the scuff marks could be buffed right out and i'm hoping that cleaning it will restore it back to it's original clean black look. however, since it's rubbery/plastic, what kind of cleaning materials would you suggest?

Those are only temporary. The plastic itself is oxidized so you will either have to remove the oxidized surface (sanding?) or cover it. Truck bed liner spray

+1 I did this and it looked great after. I had it like that for a year and some people thought I just got a new one. Sand it down get the scuffs out then spray it. It was a good fix until I had it CF'ed

ok..so tire gel or back to black looks like my choices. maybe i'll try that tire gel since you speak so highly of it. do you scrub down the lip with soap and water first before applying it?

Just wipe the lip with a damp cloth to get rid of the dirt, there are many products out there that you can use but its only temporary. I use armol because it gives it a shine.

Find some "Forever Black". http://www.foreverblack.com/ Found out about it when I had a 2nd gen Jetta. It actually dyes the plastic black. Works wonders and lasts pretty much forever. It can be wiped off any painted areas it gets on as well before it dries. Used it on my R1 lip a few years ago, and it still looks good.
