Best Leather upgrade?
I want to redo my leather seats in my FD. They need it bad. I also want to keep leather seats....what do you think would be the best/a nice upgrade to the stock leather. I'm willing to splurge some bucks on this.
Thanks for any ideas.

I would start by checking out some local upholstery shops, pick their brains and see what they have to offer. Some of the best work out there is performed by people nobody has heard from, plus you can get some professional opinions for free! The hardest part is finding someone with a good line on some quality leather. If one shop can't help you, ask them who might be able to, sometimes this works, sometimes not, depends on how secure they feel. If you can do it, you could offer the shop your passenger seat to make templates. Ask for references and/or photos of previous work. You might post this question to the SE forum (if you haven't already) to see if there are any references. Good luck.

hi dave, i ordered some stock leathers from mazda. they are very soft. most of us bought our cars used with already abused seats and contemplated all the things we would have done different to preserve the car had we bought it new from mazda. especially on seats. i ordered some, and have had them for awhile now, they are softer then any other leather i know of. the first day i got them i used some great conditioner and have kept them conditioned ever since. i would have no problem with now comparing the leather in my fd to a bentley's.

I like keeping thinks stock looking, and the seats are really pretty good, although new high density foam padding makes them really comfortable.
