You CANNOT make the buttons functional. There is a rolling code in the remote. I work for Mercedes, trust me it won't work.

Heh, I can see some airport screener confiscating your car keys:

Security: Sir, is that a knife?

You: No! It's just my car key-- watch this... 'click'

Security: SWARM!!, SWARM!!, SWARM!!

Channel 7: LAX terminal 1 was shut down for five hours today, after a man tried to pass through airport security with what police say, was an unusually dull and worn switchblade knife. Witnesses say the man was subdued by a swarm of security guards, treated for injuries, and turned over to the police. As he was led away in handcuffs, he was heard to scream, "THE RX7CLUB KNOWS ABOUT YOU!"

Ahahahaa. Good times

functional keyless and alarm

I have search for those keyless and alarm about 6 months ago. I almost about to import about 50 set from Japan for $95 with shipping. Check the web site and email them. They are able to response quickly and send you a set from Japan for cheap.

The remote is a universal and you have to modify you own key in order to fit into the remote. However, they also have your key (brank) available which is already modifried. Email them for more detail.

I wish I was able to become their distributer but their wholesale price is quite high even though I asked for 500 sets.

Since they do individual business for United States, email them

Yea these are the MB, VW and Audi keys. Friend has VW, another has an Audi, and my parents had an MB.

Lets just say, having a bulky rectangle in your pocket attached to your keychain along with other keys is not very comfortable. No matter how cool that pop out thing is. It's only flashy once, then it gets irritating having to pop the key out all the time.

But if you really want to have a stab at these 'cool' keys go for it. hehe.

Much rather the BMW keyless entry key (have one right now due to brother car). They are the same as Porsches keyless entry keys I believe. Now how cool is THAT! The key is really bulky as well though, once again useless if the buttons dont work. Especially since the BMW logo is in the middle of the key and that actually is a button itself. You would have to somehow create a tiny tiny cirular mazda logo and glue it on. lol.

Understood. And of course you are entitled to your opinion. My point being, no one here is hyping it up, at least it doesn't appear that way to me.

As far as why someone would like one:

1. They're nice keys. Why do you think Benz uses them?

2. The buttons can be made functional. It'll take some tinkering, but I'm almost certain it can be done.

Benz also uses plastic on the end tanks of their radiators....They are SO owned by Chrysler these days it ain't funny.
