Bellof HIDs?

I've been asking questions about these in another thread, but in order to "unbury" my inquiries, I'm posting up top with a fresh thread.

I've heard a little about the Bellof's as drop-in replacements for the FD pop-ups, but I'm not sure if they're worth the extra cash over something you might get at hids4less.com

Pictures I've seen indicate the Bellof's have a little better fit, and the beam pattern seems to be less diffused than that of the hids4less kit.

However, I'm not convinced this isn't just a product of different folks adjusting their beam patterns better, worse, or just different than others.

Can anyone give me more info. on the Bellofs or the hids4less kits? Comparisons, pics, etc.

TIA,

-E

LOL. Can you help me out on the Japanese translation Jim?

I should've been more clear. I'm looking for pics of the beam pattern, not the fixtures themselves. And I believe those you posted Jim, are of a larger upgraded kit that requires cutting, or at least replacing the headlamp covers (obviously).

Not sure though. Thus the posting.

I'm pretty sure there's a direct drop in available.

Just looking for more info. on beam patterns, availability, and any further info. of the same sort with the hids4less kits.

The only beam pictures that I saw were at the top of this page...

A good representation of the color shift of the different kits, but not a very good representation of beam pattern, unfortunately.

Thanks Jim. You're right, no beam pattern.

Now that BMW has set the standard for a higher Kelvin temp. light, I guess everyone's paying extra for the 6100K's, hopefully knowing full-well (you like that backwoods in me?) that the lighting capacity differences are nil.

Same reason the critics don't like the look of the new Z4...but that's another story for another time.

Hmm...I'll search under his name, as nothing else came up under bellof with pics or info.

Thanks!

The only ones I have seen have the fugly carbon/kevlar bumpy covers on them. The beam pattern was ok, nothing spectacular, but the FD housings/reflectors are not designed for HID and not that good to start with so :/. Product quality was excellent and the light was very similar in color to my McCullouch setup.

The hardware looked a lot more substantial, beefier wires, and just the appearance of the unit components (ballast and ignitor) was top notch.

If only they work without those covers..

Yeah, I had seen that in various pictures as well, but I thought Bellof sold a set (per WorkS2R) that were pure drop ins - no cover replacements required. Dunno though.
