Before and After mint Paint Job

before...

After.....

And guess how much I paid. I guarantee you'll be wrong. The weather was real crappy today but I couldn't resist taking a couple. I had a truck splash a puddle on my cover which made the hood a bit muddy but I will hose it down and wash the cover tomorrow and get some nice ones. Hopefully it will be sunny.

I'm still debating a bra or not to protect the job. Let me know what ya'll think though.

Looks nice, but U shoulda done somethin' 2 the rims! LOL I hate it when I fix one thing & then someone says something else is bad... $500 on the paint job is my guess. Don't get a bra - get a bro - latex, throw away car condom, U just poke holes for the wheels & exhaust LOL

okok..... I know you get what you pay for but I was able to get a deal for a job including bodywork for 1500. It is not a mega custom job and there are better jobs out there, I know, but I figured anything is better than what I had and I got very lucky. It isn't house of colors or ppg base coat but it is still factory crystal white and ppg clear and hardener, and some great body work.

I told the shop that I was in no hurry since I'm always up at school and that I pay cash. It took them a month and a half to do it but thats why I got such a deal. I say find someone that has been around for years that does quality work and don't go rushing in saying my car is the most important thing you'll ever work on (because it isn't) and they're much nicer and do better work. If you give a little, sometimes you get a LOT in return.

BTW, I've decided pinstriping is for the birds as my lines are gorgeous anyways and I'm not sure if I wanna replace my GXL decals.

$1500 was a great deal considering how much paint peel the car had

well keep in mind it was not only paint but minor body work too and they stripped almost the entire car and primered it all to paint. Not bragging but I think my experience is a good arguement that a decednt job is only available to those with 2500 or more.

I really appreciate all your comments tho. Keep em comin. Any suggestions on what I should do next. Be sure to check back for more pics tomorrow.

Yeah, when I did the restoration work on my car, I filled in all the mouldings and sanded them down flat. The bumer was a real pain because the mouldings are actually part of the bumper, not a piece that clips in but I'm almost done with it and I think it's going to look really nice. It's a lot of work but it's worth it. For the finishing touch, five coats of Porsche Racing Blue (3A8) and three coats of clear coat. I'll post pics soon.
