Base R1 touring audio wiring differences? CarPC project
Hey anyone know if the wiring harnesses are similar?
I would like to utilize the stock wiring if possible to run the rear quarter panel speakers of which I have finally acquired both brackets and grills for my touring.
I did notice a small 2 pin white plug on the passenger side, is this possibly a speaker plug by any chance utilized for the R1s bases?
I was looking through the electronics parts fiche, and the rear speakers in the type 1 and bose are similarly colored wires, so here is hoping that they use the same harness to feed each. anyone know?
If the implementations for base and R1 speaker wiring are not there is it then better to just tap into the bose wave tube harness as I do not have this installed?

I dont know for sure but the base system should have a different harness then the bose system if that helps. but many times the wire colors behind the deck for speakers are different at the speaker do you have bose or no bose I have access to wiring diagrams and i can check if you let me know

No it's not Turbo'd
I can't remember what the touring bose wiring looked like (it's been to long) but I remember there beeing an amplifyer under the center console... if it's NOT going through an amp it's probhably fine.... I'd maybe invest in a Logic Probe (Wire Tracer) that'll alow you to see (hear) where the wire runs in the car, and trace it back to the radio....
Let me know if you need any "Know How" on the car PC end....
