Back Seat Idea(I think its very original)

OK lately i've been eyeing the FD rear seats but have come up with two major (and blatantly obvious) objections. One is that only midgets, little kids, or legless people could fit and 2 you lose the use of you storage bins. Well i'm thinking its time to make something custom. I'm thinking making a rear seat thats like a bench seat but more like a bed thing. So this is my plan, since its like a bed (I take two people home every day So i only need to fit one guy back there) i wont need the leg room cause the guy will be laying down. Also the bed would utilize the storage bins because it will have about a 4" thick flap that you can pull up to access them. Reading over this I realized its kind of confusing but i cant thing of another way to word it...sorry. I'm also thinking maybe having one storage bin dedicated to pillows so my girlfriend could lay down(cause she always falls asleep on trips). So if you understood any of this what do you thing. One more thing How thick do you think it should be cause i want it to be very comfortable.

I agree especially since I just seen your other thread and your "them for this FD is luxury..."

Save your money on the back seat redesign and just learn to rent hotel rooms when you need to stay somewhere away from home.. (Who would sleep in a FD anyways?)

Sell your car, ditch the "mean with sleepless" girlfriend and rethink the 70's custom van one more time..

In my other thread i stated that i want my car to feel like its a luxury vehicle. You know if you've ever sat in a luxury vehicle, it feels great. Thats what i want my car to feel like. Also I've given up on this idea because everyone here seems to thing it would be the gayest thing in the world. And lastly why would I get a van i could just get seats that go all the way back, which is what im doing now...damn

dude I could hardly fit into the storage bin area with the seats removed the center cection of the interior out. If she can lay down back there why not just get a few pillows and a thick quilt and put it on top of the bins?

If you wanted a car that felt luxurious, you should not have bought a car designed to be tracked. How many times do you have to be told you bought the wrong car before you figure it out?

What the fvck are you taking about?? The guy is going to be laying down?? Laying down where?? If there isn't enough room to sit back there, how can there be enough room to lay down back there?? Do yourself a favor and spend you time and money on something that will actually have a purpose and that will benefit you car, like some reliability mods. But if you do make this "bed", please post pics, I would have to see this

I don't know why everybody is giving this guy a hard time. I've fit five (5) people in my FD before. The two in the passenger seat were two small, skinny girls sitting on top of each other. The two in the back were laying down. One was my 6'3" friend and the other was a 5'2" 120lb fatty he was taking home with him.

(I've also fit all four tires inside my car too...It's pretty amazing what you can cram in there...)

Ahh... my first B.S. meter post.

You're forgetting to add up the total volume in the back area. If you do the math, you'll see that with the right Yoga manuevers, you can do it...

Thanks, now I have to go get my friend, another fat girl, and my digital camera together just for you...

Seriously, I don't think he is bullsh*ting, one time when I was young I saw like 25 clowns get out of a VW Bug so I guess anything is possible.
