Audio help...
Here's the deal:
When I turn up the radio, you can see the power being drained out of the radio lights when the bass hits and it sounds crappy. Do I just need an amp or is the radio power not wired properly? TIA

1988 AE Turbo with:
-HKS Air Filter
-Racing Beat Catback
-Racing Beat FCD
-Suspension Techniques Anti-Sway Bars
-Suspension Techniques Springs
-Tokico HP Shocks
-Hawk HP Plus Pads

Aftermarket. Pioneer cd player 35Wx4. The following speakers were left inside the car by the previous owner after his head and amp were stolen:
2 8in. Polk Audio woofers in Rear Shock towers.
2 5 1/4in. Boston Acoustics two way speakers above the window switches.
2 6in. Polk Audio speakers mounted toward front bottom of door.
2 tweeters in side view mirror

If you are using your head unit to push all of the speakers you mentioned, then the problem is most likely the load you are putting on the deck's output.
Deck amplifiers, regardless of what they are rated at, literally die if put under anything lower than a 4 ohm load. Also, using any type of active crossover, like a "bass blocker" will strain a head unit's output.
Look at it this way, your deck "claims" 35x4 watts, and for example, my Sony amplifier rated at 25x4 weighs about 5 lbs...get the idea?
