Anyone use a battery isolator?
Want to run 2 batteries, and want the ability to charge the main battery as normally would happen.
And would like the auxiliary battery to only charge when power is low.
Also would like the ability to call on the auxiliary battery if the need should arise to start the vehicle.
Anyone do this and could pass on some information or good links?
TIA

Well I suppose theres no reason to ask "Why two batteries", must be some stereo system, or some project.
Dont know if this will help, but when I lived on a Searay boat in Lake Mead it had multiple batteries for diff. things. For example, if you went to start the port side engine and the battery was low/dead, you could turn a switch from A to B which would allow the port side engine to use the starboard sides battery and vise versa. It also had a charging station that would charge each battery independantly as needed. I think the charging station said DIMENSIONS on it, not for sure on that.
Good luck w/that dude.
