Recaro SPG fitment problems

Hey Guys,

I was under the impression these seats fit the fd without issue. Mine are hitting the door more than I'd like as I don't want to damage the seat or the door panel.

I have attached pictures of the rail and seat I am using. Let me know if anyone else has experience with fitment problems or if I have the wrong rails.

Thanks!

I'm wondering if the fitment claim was exclusive to the RECARO SPG seat mounted with RECARO rails

If it gets down to it, you can thake the cloth off the shell of the seat & trim the shell to fit.

I'm not sure, but I'd really like to avoid trimming the shell. Hopefully someone will chime in who has made it work and how.

If you are using the Bride rail it will hit due to the fact that it has the super low fitment, if you get some Recaro Side Rails it may work, the only disadvantage is that you will seat higher.

That is basically the only way that it wont hit the door panel is by using the Recaro mounts, but like I said you will seat higher with this setup.

Thanks Kai, I'm 6'3 so I'll see how I like it higher.

Just wanted to update this thread for future searchers.

I went through four sets of rails, bride, atomicrex, nagisa and finally recaro. They all hit the door! The recaro rails are the only ones that are tolerable as they barely hit the door.

I would say that if you need your seat to slide all the way forward and all the way back to the bins these pretty much don't fit. Mine barely hit the door now but the passenger side binds pretty bad on the tunnel if you put it forward at all.

I think these are great seats for the money but I would not recommend buying them unless someone has already done the legwork on making them fit. I literally had them in and out of the car over 50x to get them the way I wanted.
