Question Anyone have the Rotary Extreme CF scuff plate?

Has anyone bought the CF scuff plate from RE? What are your thoughts on it?

Wonder if it gets beat up as bad and scrapped up by the door closing like those OEM scuff plates?

Do you have a pic of them? A pic that shows the sills from a distance

I just saw these scuff plates in person and the quality is great. Can't say if they scratch bad, but from what i saw, the quality was great and they looked tough, like they could handle alot of abuse. And its from RE, which is known to make high quality products.

Its got my vote.

I'd find it hard to believe that it would scratch easier and be more noticeable (read: ugly) than the silver aluminum/metal door sills. I have 'em, and they scratch VERY easily. If the clearcoat's thick on the CF sills, they shouldn't scratch too easily.

Sorry if I'm being picky here. But I just checked RE-amemiya's website and they have the CF scuff plate for U$200.00 w/o shipping.

It would be similar in price if you buy a pre-order one (U$195) but for Chuck's normal price (U$250) , the Amemiya's seem to be a better deal considering the "RE-Amemiya coolness" effect.

After seeing them in person, they looked like they were made with durability in mind. It really didn't look like they scratch easily. So now, its up to someone buying them and using them and reporting back if they scratch or not.

Im contemplating also. I dont want to close my door and havet the damn CF sill crack. I usually have to pull my doors pretty hard to have them close properly.

Lol, well it comes with this RE-amemiya badge kind of thing.
Might add the "cool" factor for some ppl out there.
Not for me tho, prefer the stock ones.

I have the cf scuff plates. I don't think mine are RE but they look the same. Sorry Chuck I didn't know you made them... I bought mine from somebody here but they were used. They have held u[ great so far. I've had them on for 6 months and only a little wear so far. Hardly noticeable. I figure it's mostly from me not picking my feet up far enough...

Would anyone be interested in a 2x2 twill instead of the standard plain weave?

Visually it looks much better on aesthetic reveals IMO

Plain weave

2x2 twill

We've made these long before RE and RE-Amemiya. We've tried both weaves, but to us it looked too busy with the 2x weave. The normal weave looked deeper, if that makes sense.

As far as scratching, I've had mine on my car for 3+ years and they still have no scratches on them, and they're not even clearcoated. Maybe I'm just too careful!

Oh, and the installation is much easier with the use of rubber-insulated rivet style nuts.
Just drill two holes, put them in and screw it down.

Atilla you don’t happen to have some pics of the 2x2 installed on your beautiful car do you? Or any others from different cars?

The few parts that are carbon on my car are 2x2 so I kinda wanted to stay with the theme, could you PM me with info if you would be wiling to make me up a set with the 2x2 twill?

Thanks
