Are you saying the bumper is not a OEM piece? The undertray pieces are not OEM? What are you referring to?

Or are you referring to the fact the bumper is not OEM hence the 99 undertrays will not fit?

The bottom of the RE 99 spec bumper should be the same physical shape as the Mazda 99 spec, as far as I can tell. The 93 + US undertrays do not fit either 99 bumper RE or Mazda.

OK so you're looking for a 99spec undertray, right? And yea, I'd think the 93 undertrays wouldn't fit, since the underside of the bumper is a different shape. And seeing that Chuck's 99spec replica is molded from a Mazda OEM 99spec peice, they should be the same.

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is, if the 99spec undertray is a regular OEM part from Mazda, why can't it be sourced from Mazda Japan? That'll solve your problem, right? Or am I wayyy off? lol

Yes I suppose it would, looked around and have not been able to find any contact info for Mazda Japan. Can you or anyone else supply contact info?

It seems Chuck may have a Japanese Mazda source, maybe I should contact him by phone.

And here is a list of part numbers, though I don’t think it includes the left and right undertrays I am looking for.

Yea I don't think that list has the part you're looking for.

http://www.mazda.co.jp/home.html that's the webpage for Mazda Japan. I can't read JACK in it, so I can't find the contact page. Plus, it's all flash, so I can't check the links w/o clicking on 'em. Kirks me out.

The biggest pain w/ getting parts like this is, someone's gotta sit there looking through the parts list to find the part #, THEN you can order the part. Good luck w/ that man...hit up Chuck online, see if that helps any. Of course, when you find out the cost of the part from Mazda Japan, and you see how much it costs just to bring it over here, you may forget about it altogether, and just end up fabricating your own undertray

I talked to Chuck today and he sounds like he is going to see if he can find some for me, (what a good guy).

And maybe Jason from JTimports might be able to find some, even though he has already stopped his business. He said he would see if he could find some.

Does anyone have a part number for these parts they could post or pass along from being able to read this site? http://www.mazda.co.jp/home.html

Thanks for posting the link FDNewbie, its Remmy correct?

LOL no prob. It's Ramy (pronounced kinda like Tommy). And no prob man. I looked up stuff on the parts list on Mazda Motorsports before, and it doesn't go past 95 models either. Somehow we need to jack some microfiche or parts manual from J-land and archive it on the forum or on scuder's site, etc. It would be INVALUABLE, cuz I bet ya anything if you hit up Chuck and say "I need part # this" he'd be a lot better able to get it for you (vs having to get someone to sit there and look through parts diagrams in J-land, and risk getting the wrong part etc).

Sidenote: Of course I like it cuz it's my idea LOL but I SERIOUSLY think getting a parts diagram (on paper then scanning it) or electronic from Mazda Japan or any other source for the 96 - 2002 models should be a move the forum should pursue.
